Chief Executive
The Academy of St Martin in the Fields is seeking a new Chief Executive to set the overall artistic vision and business strategy for the orchestra. Amongst other duties, the Chief Executive will hold responsibility for artistic programming; financial and administrative management; development of commercial work and concert engagements; fundraising and income generation; ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion are integral to all aspects of the Academy’s work; and building and maintaining internal and external relationships.
The ideal candidate for Chief Executive will be a senior leader in the classical music industry or the wider arts sector, with a sound knowledge of orchestral repertoire. They will have strong leadership skills and a track record in motivating, inspiring and empowering teams to work successfully together to deliver a vision and mission. Business acumen and entrepreneurship, and a track record in generating substantial income from both private and public sector sources are important. The ability to build on the unique heritage of the Academy to develop a compelling and relevant vision for the orchestra as an industry leader in the evolving classical music sector and digital era is essential.
