The Irish Association of Youth Orchestras and the Irish Baroque Orchestra are delighted to announce the details of the Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra for 2022.

- IYBO Online 2022 | 1 – 3 April 2022 | An introduction to historically informed performance with instrumental workshops presented by the Irish Baroque Orchestra & the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras | Places are available to musicians of any instrument.

- IYBO Summer Course | 19 – 23 July 2022 | This course will be a performance course held in Dublin with two concerts.

- To be confirmed: Performance at Varazdin Baroque Evenings, Croatia. A selection of participants from IYBO 2022 will be invited to give a performance in Croatia this autumn, subject to funding. Therefore, we recommend that you keep 28 September – 1 October free in your diaries and indicate if you are available or unavailable when applying. There will be no charge for participating in this opportunity.

The closing date for both courses is Friday, 4 March 2022.

Note: A video submission is required to apply for the IYBO Summer Course.

The Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra is aimed at advanced instrumental students between the ages of 18 and 24 with an interest in historically informed performance. (Exceptional players outside of the age range will be considered.) IYBO is a collaboration between the Irish Baroque Orchestra and the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras.

Please note: Players who apply for the summer course and have not previously taken part in any Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra activities, will be required to attend the introductory course in April 2022. Exceptions may be made for players already familiar with Baroque music.
