The Sultans of Ping
Marking three decades since the release of their debut album, Casual Sex in the Cineplex, The Sultans of Ping are set to perform at Dublin's Vicar Street on Saturday, 9th March 2024. This follows their two sold-out performances at the Cork Opera House in early 2023.
Tickets for the Sultans of Ping's one-off Vicar Street performance go on sale on Wednesday, 17th May at 10am. The group, established in Cork in 1988 by Niall O'Flaherty, Pat O'Connell, Paul Fennelly, and Ger Lyons, rose to prominence in the Irish and UK music scenes with their 1992 hit, 'Where's Me Jumper'. The band's debut album, Casual Sex In The Cineplex, was released under Epic Records.
The Sultans of Ping also released albums such as Teenage Drug and Good Year for Trouble, before parting ways in 1997. They reformed in 2005. Their tracks have also featured on TV series like "Moone Boy" and "The Young Offenders", and 'Give Him a Ball' is the theme track for the Irish Sports Podcast "Off The Ball".
Tickets are priced at €33.50 and will be available at www.ticketmaster.ie.
