RSNO Young Creatives

RSNO Young Creatives

Monday, 23 August 2021, 10.00pm

Young Creatives is the Royal Scottish National Orchestra’s (RSNO) work experience and leadership programme for young musicians and creatives. Join the orchestra for an academic year as an RSNO Young Creative to experience what life in a professional orchestra is like – both on stage and behind the scenes.

RSNO Young Creatives Musicians
You will spend the year working with your fellow musicians as an ensemble, first in a series of workshops designed to develop your musicianship and orchestral technique, before beginning work on the repertoire which will be performed at the end of the year in a side-by-side concert with the RSNO. Throughout the year, you’ll receive specialised coaching and mentoring from the RSNO musicians and the Young Creatives Conductor, take part in concert visits to watch the RSNO, and work with the Young Creatives Programmers to shape the concert itself. There will be regular online activity to keep in touch with everyone in between the in-person sessions.

RSNO Young Creatives Programmers
The Young Creatives Programmers focus on the ‘behind the scenes’, and will gain work experience opportunities throughout the RSNO departments. As a team, you will plan and produce the concert, create marketing materials, social media content, and digital content, create learning projects and materials, and design and carry out the staging of the performance.

The concert will be performed by the Young Creatives Musicians and the RSNO orchestra, whom you will work closely with throughout the year.

RSNO Young Creatives runs over the course of the academic year, beginning in September and finishing in June.
