Strings Department Administrator (Maternity Cover)
The Royal Academy of Music is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and practical administrator to support the management of the Strings department. You will be the joint primary point of contact for staff, students, visitors, and external enquiries. This role is currently arranged as a job share and the role-holder will have particular responsibility for department performance classes, finance and budget control, principal study teaching, alongside daily administrative tasks. The post holder must be able to work on their own initiative but also as part of a close team to ensure the smooth running of the department.
You will need to be a proactive individual with strong organisational and prioritisation skills and remain calm under pressure. Good working knowledge of IT systems, a flexible approach, excellent interpersonal skills with a wide range of people and personalities, along with a real passion for and knowledge of music are essential.
