Cello recital BACH, BLOCH, KOSÍKOVÁ & KATZ - Frantisek Brikcius

Cello lunchtime concert BACH, BLOCH, KOSÍKOVÁ & KATZ will take place on Thursday 17th October 2019 at 1:00 p.m., at the Church of St John the Baptist in Leytonstone (High Road, Leytonstone, E11 1HH, London). Cellist František Brikcius will perform Suite Nr. 3 for Solo Cello in G major, BWV 1007 by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1730), Suite No.2 for Solo Cello, B.94 by Swiss-born American composer Ernest Bloch (1880 - 1959), Veselka for Solo Cello (2018)* by Czech Composer and Organist Irena Kosíková. There will be rare possibility to hear "The Soldier Puppet"*, an anti-Vietnam war solo cello piece by American Jazz Cellist and Composer Fred Katz (1919 - 2013) and his "Granadios"*.

"Fred’s work with the Chico Hamilton Quintet in the 1950's brought him particular attention, as did his writing and appearance in the award winning Tony Curtis and Burt Lancaster movie, Sweet Smell of Success and his film scores for many of the Roger Corman movies such as The Little Shop of Horrors."
