Editorial Work Experience 2020 – Observer Culture & New Review

Editorial Work Experience 2020 – Observer Culture & New Review

Thursday, 12 December 2019, 5.00pm

The Observer is offering two-week placements only from March to October 2020.

Criteria
To be considered for a placement you must be at least 18, an EEA resident with the right to work or train in the UK, and able to demonstrate a genuine interest in journalism – for example, serious involvement in student journalism, substantial work experience on local/specialist media, or an impressive personal website or blog. The aim of the scheme is to introduce aspiring journalists to an editorial environment. For this reason we regret that professional journalists are not eligible to apply for these placements. You are only allowed to have one editorial work experience placement at GNM – if you have been given a placement before, you may not apply again.

Please note that demand is greatest during academic holidays, and during these times we give priority to students from our Scott Trust Bursary Scheme and the Positive Action Scheme, so it may help if you can be flexible with your availability. Work experience placements are available in various areas of our Editorial department. Each category has specific application requirements so do think carefully about which one might benefit your skills and ambitions.
