Caoimhe has been privileged to share the stage with renowned performers. She has amassed a vast repertoire of songs, ballads and tunes over the years.

(Saturday workshop only)

Frankie Gavin is known best as the co-founder with Alec Finn of the iconic band De Dannan which has existed in various forms since the mid-1970s. In addition to his band work, he has pursued a successful solo career as well as performing with the cream of traditional Irish musicians of his generation and stars from other musical genres: Stéphane Grappelli, Yehudi Menuhuin, James Galway, Elvis Costello and The Rolling Stones. He is generally regarded as the finest traditional Irish fiddle player of his generation. Frankie won Gradam Ceoil’s prestigious 2018 Musician of the Year Award. (Sunday workshop only)

Clare Friel, TG4 Gradam Ceoil Ceoltóir Óg/Young Musician of the Year 2018, was born and brought up in Glasgow, Scotland, with very close family ties to Donegal. She is a highly regarded fiddle player and singer and plays as a part of The Friel Sisters. Clare is quickly making a name for herself and has played and toured with such acts as The Chieftains, Moya Brennan, Lunasa, Sharon Shannon, Carlos Nunez, Cherish the Ladies and the Máirtin O’Connor Trio.

(Saturday & Sunday)

Sorcha Costello

Awarded the prestigious Gradam Ceoil TG4 Young Musician of the Year 2021, Sorcha Costello is a fiddle player from Tulla Co. Clare and hails from a family steeped in traditional Irish music. She performs mainly as a solo artist but is also part of other musical collaborations which includes a duet with her mother, Mary MacNamara. Sorcha is also a member of ‘The Provenance’, a fiddle group led by Frankie Gavin. While Sorcha’s style of fiddle playing is rooted in East Clare, she has been strongly influenced by musicians such as Frankie Gavin, Brian Rooney, and Tommy Potts. From a young age, Sorcha has enjoyed performing nationally and internationally. She is also in high demand as a teacher of music, especially in her home area of East Clare because of her ability to transmit her unique style which has the trademark rhythm and swing qualities of generations of her family. The 2016 duet album “The Lady’s Cup of Tea” released by Sorcha and Mary captures this trademark ‘rhythm’ and ‘swing’ of East Clare music. Sorcha has a BA in Music and English from University College Cork and a Masters in Music Therapy from University of Limerick. She is now practising as a qualified Music Therapist but also continues to perform and teach traditional music.
