The BBC is looking for an Assistant Publicist to support the BBC Radio 2, 6 Music, BBC Music and Pop Music TV Communications team, providing 360 degree communications support for BBC content.

As the Assistant Publicist, you will:

– Providing communications support for BBC Radio 2, 6 Music, BBC Music and Pop Music TV, you’ll be involved with planning and executing proactive publicity campaigns across traditional and digital media, identifying and managing reputational issues and crises, work with on-air talent, production executives and independent publicists, and working within a priority-based strategy.
– The candidate will also lead publicity on agreed projects. As well as being the first point of call for incoming enquiries and handling routine press enquiries, you’ll also be involved with the creation and implementation of 360 degree communications campaigns.
– Constantly seeking innovative ways to increase favourable media coverage and raise the profile of specific output, you’ll establish and maintain effective working relationships and contacts with the media, national and regional newspapers and magazines, websites, TV and radio outlets.
– You’ll be involved with co-ordinating press conferences, briefings, previews and press management at BBC events and handling requests for interviews and giving authority for viewing/listening to be arranged.
