Just before returning to London after his sojourn in Dublin Handel called on the ailing Jonathan Swift. When he heard who his visitor was Dean Swift is reputed to have called out to his servant, ” Oh! a German, and a Genius! A Prodigy! admit him.”

In this recital renowned harpsichordist Malcolm Proud places Handel among his contemporaries in a solo recital filmed in the Chapel Royal at Dublin Castle. Featuring works by J.S. Bach, Rameau and Handel himself.
