Call for Artists

Call for Artists

Friday, 30 October 2020, 5.00pm

Transeuropa (a European Festival for Performing Arts in Hildesheim, Germany which will take place from 25 to 30 May 2021) is looking for six guest performances, considering especially the scope of performing arts, although works which align with related art forms or have a transdisciplinary approach are also welcome to be submitted.

In order to react to the pandemic’s impeding conditions shaping current work, the festival focuses on the structural and programmatic room that artists nowadays have to manoeuver within, abiding safety precautions to prevent further spread of SARS-CoV-19. Therefore, the festival is keen for art that takes place digitally or works decentralized, without the need to travel or physical presence of artists and audience. But depending on the situation in May 2021, we will transform the festivals structure as much as required in order to make an on-site- festival in Hildesheim possible.

Transeuropa would particularly like to encourage artists who are black, indigenous, artists of colour, or artists who identify as trans and/or nonbinary to apply. The festival seeks to create a fair and nondiscriminatory space to work within. Therefore, the festival decided that German language skills should not be a necessity.

Transeuropa are looking for artists:
• Who are on the verge of becoming professional artists
• Who live and work in europe
• Who consider their piece performing art
• Who deal with the festivals thoughts and questions in their piece
• Whose piece is adaptable to the rules of distance and hygiene
