The great public health crisis and socio-economic challenge of 2020 may have divided society more than they have united. Black Lives Matter has proved that a grassroots movement can position pressing issues in the global spotlight, but we still face the question of whether it can break down the doors of an institution that is impervious to change.

The major pillars of power – labels, producers, funders, media – are still standing, and their role as help or hindrance will be considered by Kevin Le Gendre and special industry guests in this conversation on cultural misrepresentation.

Article 10 of the Human Rights Act: “Everyone has the right to freedom of expression.’

Join Kevin Le Gendre and special guests for an insightful and challenging conversation on race, racism and the need for change within the music industry, entitled Our Generation & Their Institutions.

This series, and the EFG London Jazz Festival, stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter.
