The Arts Council of England is hiring a Head of Editorial.

They are looking for a talented writer with a strong track-record of producing high-quality written content across a range of communications channels.

Tapping into your deep understanding of the changing nature of our society, you will craft powerful stories about the value of creativity and culture in people’s lives, in local communities, and to the country.

You will be able to transform technical material into content that audiences will find useful and meaningful. Day-to-day, you will write speeches, opinion pieces, and edit reports and guidance documents. You will also take a leadership role in developing writing and editorial skills within our organisation.

You will have significant experience of engaging with a wide-range of audiences, particularly those from diverse backgrounds, and have a strong personal commitment to diversity and inclusion.

As the ideal candidate, you will have:
– Strong editorial skills and be a talented writer (you may come from a journalistic background) and will have a strong track record in producing content, such as speeches, for the most senior figures in an organisation.
– Experience of developing an organisational tone and language, of ensuring that clear and compelling language is used.
– Proven experience of developing individuals and teams – using your coaching and mentoring skills to help them fulfil their potential.
