Piano Coach and Accompanist/Workshop leader

HMDT Music seeks an experienced musician to teach piano, accompany choirs, and lead early years workshops. The role is based in Hackney, at HMDT Music’s Saturday Programme.

In the Music Box, the successful candidate will lead young children and their parents in singing, movement, and music skills, as well as collaborating a weekly visiting guest artist. As a part of the wider programme, you will accompany choirs, and teach piano in individual lessons. You should be able to teach in a range of styles.

Responsibilities include planning the structure and repertoire for each lesson, monitoring student progress and contributing to student End of Year Reports, and working with the Saturday Programme Manager to ensure the creation and quality delivery of an agreed Scheme of Work.

You should have experience of working with children aged 6 months -14 years in groups and individually. The contract will initially be to work on Saturdays from 9.00am for approximately 6 hours for 20 weeks across the Spring and Summer terms from January 2021, and is renewable each academic year.
