Secret Love: The Story of Doris Day – Presented by The Everyman Sunday Songbook

Sunday, 24 April 2022, 7.30pm

Centenary Concert

Join The Everyman Sunday Songbook team for an unforgettable evening of story and singing with Secret Love: The Story of Doris Day.

Oscar-winning actress, Golden Globe and Grammy Award winner, and lifetime animal activist, Doris Day was best known for her cheeky smile, her on-screen magic, and her unique singing voice. In the 1950s she was the top earning film star in the world, but that smile concealed a life of drama, tragedy and betrayal.

12th April 2022 would have been her 100th birthday and we are in full celebration mode! Following sell out concerts around the country, and kicking off their 19th year of concerts at The Everyman, the fantastic Sunday Songbook team – Linda Kenny, Damian Smith, Alf McCarthy, together with the Songbook band (MD Alan Carney), tell the real story behind Doris’ ‘Calamity Jane’ image and bring you all her hit songs including “Sentimental Journey”, “Que Sera Sera”, “Secret Love”, “Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps” and many more.
