The Kevin Brady Electric Quartet - Live at The Riverbank Arts Centre
The Riverbank Arts Centre Presents The Kevin Brady Electric Quartet.
One of the most interesting & unique Jazz Ensembles to have emerged in the last ten years is the International collaboration between Irish jazz musician Kevin Brady, U.S. pianist Bill Carrothers, U.S. Saxophonist Seamus Blake & Irish bassist Dave Redmond. Their latest studio recording entitled ‘Plan B’ was released Worldwide by U.K. based label Ubuntu Music and was selected as One of the Jazz Album releases of that year by iconic U.S. jazz magazine Downbeat.
Featuring new original compositions with explorative improvisation in an Electric Quartet format, the music is reminiscent of the 70’s Miles Davis Group, while also tipping their collective hat to the funk and groove music written by Herbie Hancock. Their live performances have been described as hypnotically insistent, all with a lasting story of experience & optimism.
As quoted by jazz critic, John Kelman of All About Jazz “Brady is an impressive drummer with impeccable taste, creative & most notably, terrific tone”.
Kevin has accumulated a wealth of experience performing with some of the World’s leading exponents of Jazz & Improvised music. The Kevin Brady Electric Quartet have a clear aim of creating and producing new contemporary jazz and the impact of this has been immediate. Their performances have been critically acclaimed for their dynamism and musicality, as quoted by The Telegraph “This group display an enviable poise and togetherness” . This is set to be one of the highlights of the musical calendar.
