Education and Outreach Manager

Friday, 30 June 2023, 12.00pm

The Hallé Orchestra is currently seeking an Education and Outreach Manager with exceptional project management and communication skills, as well as experience in music education and personnel management. This role aims to oversee and develop the Education and Community Outreach initiatives undertaken by the Hallé Orchestra.

Interested candidates should submit their applications by the application deadline of 12 pm noon on Tuesday, 30th May 2023. First interviews for shortlisted applicants are scheduled for Monday, 12th June 2023.

As the Education and Outreach Manager, the selected individual will report to the Head of Hallé Connect, focusing on delivering a diverse range of projects in alignment with the objectives of Hallé Connect. This program encompasses the Hallé Orchestra’s activities beyond the traditional concert platform, engaging with various segments of the community, including schools, care homes, and aspiring young talent. The aim is to foster creativity and raise aspirations by bringing music to a broader audience who may not typically attend formal concert hall events. Hallé musicians actively participate in different settings across Greater Manchester and beyond, ensuring accessibility and practical engagement.

This is a full-time permanent position requiring a 36.25-hour workweek, which may include flexible hours outside the core office hours of 09:00-17:15, Monday to Friday. The primary work location will be at The Bridgewater Hall, with occasional work at Hallé St Peter’s and Hallé at Michael’s in Ancoats. The role may also offer the option of some remote work, subject to the organisation’s flexible and hybrid working policies. Due to the nature of the role, rehearsals, concert performances, and events may often occur outside the typical office hours.

To apply for the position, please submit your completed application to Linzi Watts, PA and Office Manager, by 12 pm noon on Tuesday, 30th May 2023. For further information or clarification regarding the appointment, interested individuals may contact Linzi Watts at linzi.watts [at]
