Dublin Brass Week 2019: Berlin Philharmonic Brass Trio
Now in its sixth edition, Dublin Brass Week was founded in 2013 by Irish trumpeter David Collins and his violinist wife Sarah Sew.
DBW started as masterclasses for trumpet and has grown each year, inviting 15 faculty and hosting over 40 students representing full orchestral brass from throughout the world for DBW19. The DBW Academy programme, launched in 2014, selects young brass players resident on the island of Ireland to participate in Dublin Brass Week.

Gábor, Andrej and Jesper open the concert with each performing solo repertoire in the form of Neruda, Schumann and Dukas with piano. The second half will comprise completely of music for brass trio featuring Poulenc’s iconic Sonata for Horn, Trumpet and Trombone.

Dublin Brass Week are delighted to welcome, on their first visit to Ireland, world renowned trumpeter Adam Rapa along with pianist Luca Dell’anna. They will perform their set of imaginative and explorative music at the intimate venue of The Sugar Club, Dublin.

This closing Concert of Dublin Brass Week 2019 will feature faculty members Annamia Larsson, Mark O’Keeffe, Pasi Pirinen, Adam Rapa, David Rejano, Roland Szentpali, Alan Thomas as well as DBW19 Ensembles.
This concert will include a world premiere by composer Rose Connolly. This piece was specially commissioned to open this final concert of DBW 19.
