Slow Moving Clouds

Slow Moving Clouds

Saturday, 21 September 2019, 8.00pm

Irish/Nordic trio, Slow Moving Clouds create a minimalist sound world, rich, darkly atmospheric and brimming with ideas.

There’s a willingness to explore while never straying too far from their roots. What sets Slow Moving Clouds apart is their ability to recreate the ethereal and atmospheric intricacies of their studio work in a live setting.

Having released their second album, Starfall, in October 2018 through the PEOPLE music platform, led by Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) and the Dessner brothers (The National), Slow Moving Clouds have been steadily growing their fanbase as they tour throughout the UK and Ireland. Having shared the stage with international acts such as The National & Justin Vernon along with Irish acts such as Lisa O’Neill, Saint Sister and The Rusongano Family, Slow Moving Clouds seem to have tapped into a sound that is both otherworldly and familiar.

Fans of The Gloaming / Lisa Hannigan / Lau, this one’s for you. Returning to The Duncairn this September, we are delighted to present Slow Moving Clouds.

‘World music at its finest’ – Siobhán Long (The Irish Times)

’An act occupying a unique space in the Irish music scene’ – Des O’Driscoll (Irish Examiner)

‘Emotive, euphoric and unique music…’ – fRoots
