Irish producer and singer-songwriter Christian Cohle will perform live on Friday 22 July at Whelan's Upstairs.

This rising electro alt-pop singer has been dubbed as "Ireland's best-kept secret" by The Line of Best Fit and his debut album Holy Trouble (2021) has garnered accolades from international tastemakers, who have celebrated his cinematic sound.

His latest release 'Wasted' follows deeper down the trail of a narrative Cohle seems to be establishing this year from his previous single ‘Spinning Heart’, where we get a glimpse into his personal life, grappling with the ghosts of a lost love that lingers on.

Cohle is an artist with an undeniably accomplished sound that is haunting, highly immersive and other-worldly. His music has an ethereal, ambient quality, carried by his powerful yet delicate voice - a mix of Moderat, James Blake and Antony and the Johnsons.

Everything he creates and performs weaves together into this atmospheric and electronic-influenced world. His lyrics, deeply personal, are sometimes hidden in dreamlike and poetic images. This gives them an attractive ambiguity to relate to on a deep, visceral level.

His music has been selected for a number of curated playlists on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music, in the electronic/indie space. Championed by many publications: Hot Press, Nialler 9, Earmilk, CLASH and more, he has gone on to perform at some of Ireland's leading showcase music festivals for emerging artists and continues to cement himself as someone tipped for international success.
