Assistant Stage Manager
We are looking for an ASM to facilitate the smooth running of rehearsals and performances within a team of one Stage Manager, one Deputy Stage Manager and one other Assistant Stage Manager
Your duties will include:
- Planning, co-ordinating and monitoring rehearsal and performance arrangements for props in order to meet production requirement
- Ascertaining a detailed knowledge of the allocated production in order to ensure that designated aspects of rehearsals and performances run in accordance with the director’s vision.
- Checking the stage prior to performance, ensuring that all requirements (TVs, music stands etc.) are correctly positioned, sufficient room is allowed for off stage bands and chorus, quick change booths are set, props and scenery are cleared from entrances and all masking is in position
The successful candidate:
- Demonstrable professional experience
- Experience of working with creative teams
- Discretion and sensitivity when dealing with confidential information
- Ability to work under pressure
- Attention to detail
- Proactive and flexible attitude, ability to effectively prioritise
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of current Health and Safety guidelines
- Understand of current Covid-19 government guidance especially in the performing arts
- Ability to instill confidence and provide reassurance to company members when it comes to working in a Covid-19 safe environment
