Cafe OTO is currently looking for full-time Evening Manager who is passionate and knowledgeable about new music.

Since we opened in 2008, Cafe OTO has developed an international reputation for hosting adventurous live music seven nights a week. Whoever takes this role will play an essential part in helping us host and deliver that programme, and will be the primary face and front of house representing Cafe OTO to audience and performers alike.

We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate:
Knowledge and interest in a broad range of underground and experimental music.
Knowledge and understanding of Cafe OTO’s mission, its history and the context in which it operates.
Experience in managing small teams of people.
Experience of hospitality and live events.
Ability to think on your feet and take initiative and stay calm under pressure.

Key responsibilities would include:
Liaison with artists and ensuring the smooth running of evening events.
Liaison with Production Manager, Sound Engineers etc.
General running of the bar including developing and expanding the range of drinks and snacks for sale in the evening and managing stock and suppliers.
Management of bar staff and volunteers including recruiting and training part-time staff.
Being the Deputy Premises Supervisor (DPS) and ensuring that we adhere to all relevant licensing legislation.
Basic administration and housekeeping skills.
Ability to maintain Fire, Health and Safety standards at all times.
Cash and credit control, including reporting to management.
