Shy Mascot Return with Headline Gig at the Sound House Joined by Prominent Support Acts

Shy Mascot, Dublin based five-piece band who’s sound combines elements of funk, jazz, and hip hop, return with a headline show at the Sound House on November 27th. The lineup is packed with Dublin Hip-Hop talent, and the night will also feature Craig Cooney, Jeorge II, GG Carma & Edgy V, and Jordan Wilson.

Shy Mascot has an undeniable old-school hip hop sound, while also being audibly blues and jazz-influenced. This “versatile quintet weaves between melodious, ethereal spaces, and deep, filthy grooves”- (Shy Mascot). The rhythm section, a dynamic trio led by Keith Tobin, lay a strong foundation for intricate and storytelling rhymes from Jamel, who commands the role of MC with ease. Fiadh Rua Gregg’s soulful vocals contrast beautifully overtop, completing the package of a band who has wowed audiences across the country, playing venues from Knockanstockan to Wigwam.

The gig is hosted by Fluttertone Promotions and will feature sets from some up and coming artists in the hip-hop scene:

Craig Cooney is a songwriter from Kildaire who fell in love with Hip Hop at a young age. He is known for his freestyle skills and his focus on flow, rhyme schemes, versatility, and storytelling. He has a love for performing and has performed in venues such as the Olympia and several festivals.

Jeorge II is a Trap/Hip Hop artist from Dublin with fast flows and hard punchlines, his style of rapping is one to be enjoyed both on and off stage. The theme of his music mainly focuses on the darker state of mind, but contrasts heavy themes with wittiness and clever metaphors. He has released 3 singles and a 5 track EP, The Decedent.

Edgy V & GG Carma are an Independent Twin Sister Hip Hop act, consisting of a Vocalist (GG Carma) and a Rapper (Edgy V). They have been musical from a young age, and have been making hip-hop music for the past 8 years, having a focus on rhyming, poetry, lyricism, vocal performance and a strong element of entertainment.

Jordan Wilson is a hip hop artist from Dublin who has been releasing music for a number of years. He has performed and toured extensively, including shows in California, a tour in Germany. He is known for his engaging music videos, and has an EP set to be launched in the near future.
