Goethe Choir presents Rejoice! A Musical Christmas Celebration.
Goethe Choir presents:
Rejoice, Shout for Joy – Jauchzet, frohlocket – are the first words sung by the choir in JS Bach’s Christmas Oratorio. During Christmas season this is a particularly fitting title for a concert of classical choral favourites, particularly celebrating notable anniversaries of Heinrich Schuetz (1585-1672) and Johann Kuhnau (1660-1722), Bach’s predecessor as Kantor at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig.
