Discussion with Evangelia Rigaki & Sir Harrison Birtwistle 'Composition In The 21st Century'

Friday, 7 March 2014, 2.30pm

The Music Composition Centre (Music Department, Trinity College Dublin) has invited composers, musicologists and practitioners to an International Conference entitled Composition in the 21st Century that will take place in Dublin in March 2014 (Conference 5-7 March & New Music Dublin Festival 7-9 March). The Conference will offer a forum to discuss aesthetic, technical, practical and economical issues affecting composers of different musical genres today.

Keynote speakers of the Conference will be internationally acclaimed composers Sir Harrison Birtwistle and Raymond Deane. While the conference itself is open only to delegates, there is one special public event programmed to celebrate this important conference - a keynote discussion with Sir Harrison Birtwistle and Evangelia Rigaki at the National Concert Hall at 2.30pm on Friday 7th March 2014.

This event is presented in association with Trinity Association and Trust, The Long Room Hub and the New Music Dublin Festival.
