Ballydehob Jazz Festival is proud to be partnering with Ten42 Productions to present the launch of a new European ensemble 'TarantaCeltica' who are one of the first successful beneficiaries of the new European Union 'Culture Moves Europe' programme. ‘TarantaCeltica’ an ensemble of world class multi instrumentalists whose live performance unites the hypnotic rhythmic energy of Southern Italian Tarantella and the uplifting boldness of the Irish Tradition, to create an ecstatic high energy hybrid of passion and joy.
Led by master percussionists Andrea Piccioni and Dave Boyd, this ensemble draws inspiration from the singing and dance music of Calabria and Puglia, and from the rich and textured repertoire of Irish jigs, reels, polkas and songs.
