
Breanndán Ó Beaglaioch & Rosie Morrison in concert
Breanndán and Rosie met in 2017 in West Kerry, and have performed together in New York City, Newport Folk Festival, Other Voices in Dingle, and throughout Germany. They’ve recorded on Oscar winner Glen Hansard’s last album ‘This Wild Willing.’ Breanndán came to Cape Breton for the Celtic Colours International Festival in 2018 to build traditional rowing boats, Naomhógs. Rose, as artistic creator and director, alongside Breanndán collaborated with other artists and musicians from Scotland, Ireland and Nova Scotia to celebrate language, music and dance. Their debut album as a duo will be released this Summer.
Rosie Morrison has been a professional musician for more than 20 years, touring and teaching internationally. She has recorded and performed with Oscar and Grammy Award-winner Glen Hansard and Breanndán Begley, John McDermott, among others, and continues to tour with many well-known artists in North America and internationally. Rose released her first solo album, The MacKenzie Project, in 2010 and her second album, Atlantic, won Instrumental Recording of the Year at the 2018 East Coast Music Awards.
In 2018, Rose was artistic creator and director of the Celtic Colours special project Voices of the Naomhóg which featured artists and musicians from Nova Scotia, Ireland, and Scotland building traditional Irish row boats and included traditional music, Gaelic song, and dance from both sides of the Atlantic.
