The PPL Momentum Music Fund is a grant program managed by PRS Foundation. The program awards grants ranging from £5,000 to £15,000 using funds from PRS Foundation, with support from PPL, Arts Council of Wales, Creative Wales, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, and Invest NI. Spotify also provides additional funding and support.

Eligible activities include recording, writing, touring, and marketing. However, the program is not intended for artists/bands just starting out, demoing, or playing their first gigs. For those at an earlier stage in their career, other funding options are available, including The Open Fund.

The program is more likely to support those working in contemporary popular music than those working in contemporary classical music. Composers at the ‘Next Level’ of their careers are recommended to apply for The Composers’ Fund, while those working behind the scenes as songwriters or producers with writing credits should apply to the Hitmaker Fund.

Artists/bands applying for the PPL Momentum Music Fund must be at a crucial tipping point in their careers, showing current progression and growth as an artist with the potential to significantly develop their careers over the next two years. The activity that PPL Momentum funding would support must take place in the UK.

Applicants can apply for £5,000 to £15,000 to contribute to their development as an artist. It is recommended to budget realistically to show what is needed. The average PPL Momentum grant is approximately £10,000. Overall, the PPL Momentum Music Fund provides a valuable opportunity for artists and bands to advance their careers and achieve their goals in the music industry.
