CCA (Centre for Contemporary Arts) in Derry-Londonderry is currently looking to hire a Researcher for their Supports programme. The two-year development programme aims to provide support for emerging artistic practice. It offers a combination of short training courses, mentoring, crits, surgeries, feedback, and more throughout 2023–24. The programme is made possible through funding from the Jerwood Developing Artists Fund.

The appointed Researcher will collaborate with the CCA team and peer organisations in the region. Their primary responsibilities will include mapping the existing support available for emerging practice in Northern Ireland, identifying future funding opportunities and pathways, determining effective approaches to enhanced advocacy for emerging artists, conducting research and developing a strategy for emerging artistic practice both within CCA and on a Northern Ireland-wide basis.

Tey will work closely with the CCA Director to agree on milestones and produce outcomes such as an external report for the sector, a draft strategy for CCA’s future work supporting emerging practice, and interim reports.

The Researcher will be compensated with a salary of £1500 for a total of 60 hours of research conducted throughout 2023–24. The duration of the post is until July 31, 2024, with an initial probationary period of three months. The place of work is flexible, with the possibility of remote work and on-site presence at CCA Derry-Londonderry, located at 10–12 Artillery Street, Derry-Londonderry, BT48 6RG.
