Lecturer in Music
The Royal Northern College of Music seeks to appoint an outstanding Lecturer to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
With expertise to complement the existing Academic Studies team, the successful applicant will be an experienced lecturer with a flair for bringing together the theoretical and the practical for students at all levels of study, and a commitment to promoting diversity in both curriculum content and pedagogical approaches. Core teaching duties will include the coordination of modules on the cultural history of performance and composition in the Western art music tradition, but the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop modules focussing on other areas of their research expertise within the College’s broad and diverse curriculum, including (if appropriate to their expertise) music from other repertoires and traditions.
The Lecturer’s developing research profile, and ambitious plans for individual and/or collaborative projects including grant applications, will be expected to make a significant contribution to the further development of research in the music college.
Working with the Head of Undergraduate Programmes, the successful applicant will also support the wider learning and student experience of the college’s UK and international students, including the administration of the programmes.
