The Royal College of Music is seeking a Head of Conducting.

The RCM has a long tradition of conducting teaching, and alumni are found throughout the profession. The newly created position of Head of Conducting will be responsible for developing standards and outcomes and will oversee all teaching of conducting including establishing new conducting courses at the highest level, and leading expansion of conducting options for instrumentalists and composers.

Applicants should be internationally recognised for their musical achievements, sympathies, breadth and leadership with significant international experience at the highest professional levels of conducting in a wide range of genres and repertoire, both concert and opera. Experience of working with leading conservatoire-level students is essential with a rigorous understanding of current teaching methods and techniques and an understanding of the requirements of tertiary level course structure and outcomes.
