Sometimes I dream I'm scrolling. ‘Algorithm’ is a 30 minute sound collage that reflects on our relationship with technology, how it shapes our mental landscapes and muses the phenomenon of "descreening" or "going off the grid." Is silence a luxury? Are we labouring for tech companies for free? // You've frozen. Can you reboot? Are we becoming androids, or are we getting closer to understanding what is so unique about flesh and blood and this idea of a soul? ...Buffering. This conversation has been moved to the trash.
ɗʉɭʈ
ɗʉɭʈ is an audio/visual/performance project meditating on dark mysticism, medievalism and the macabre. Inspired by Irish mythology, old ritual and nature it draws it's energy from the inherent esoteric elements in all that is ancient and wild, sacred and savage.
Based in the west of Ireland, ɗʉɭʈ is a lone female practitioner preoccupied with extracting the dank moods of rural realm. She blends elements of wyrd folk with dark ambient drones, noise, vocals and field recordings in an effort to elicit the arcane energies she encounters in forsaken areas.
Integral to the project are the artists own photographs and self shot/edited videos which accompany the audio as well as the physical movement performative elements of live sets.
