Radio 2 and 6 Music have a team of creative editorial leaders with the ability to manage content, people and resources to ensure the success of Radio 2 and 6 Music Production teams in delivering to the Network brands as well as BBC Sounds.

This team will work to the Senior Head of Content Production to further build a culture of excellence and deliver the Network’s objectives.

For this role it is likely the successful candidate will be working on a portfolio of programmes on 6 Music, so knowledge of this network and audience is needed.

Experience and knowledge of pitching and the BBC Radio Commissioning Framework is required. You will also need the ability to demonstrate extensive experience of making content, with a clear editorial vision along with proven experience of working with a range of on-air talent in the entertainment genre. Experience of working in a music network at Producer level and of leading a music project/creative idea involving a team is essential. You will also have proven ability to develop innovative output, be open to new ideas and motivate colleagues to take creative risks, within the parameters of the BBC Guidelines.

You’ll demonstrate a good understanding of audiences. Good experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with partners and good leadership skills at a senior level is required. You will ideally have experience of financial responsibility as it relates to content.
