Glyndebourne is currently seeking Orchestra Pit Assistants for the upcoming Festival season, running from 29 April to 25 August 2024. These roles are integral to ensuring smooth transitions and a safe working environment for musicians in the orchestra pit, involving tasks such as moving chairs, music stands, and instruments, including pianos and keyboard instruments.

Applicants must possess the ability to lift and move heavy items, follow instructions accurately, have an understanding of musical instruments and their roles within an orchestra, and be able to provide quick and safe solutions to arising problems. Desirable skills include having your own transport due to variable shift patterns, knowledge of noise at work regulations, and a basic understanding of power tools and hand tools. An enthusiasm for theatre and live performance is also beneficial.

The position offers a weekly pay of £486.78 for 35 hours per week, with shifts varying between 8:00 and 22:30 over five days.

Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, with a final deadline of 14 March 2024. Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 18 March 2024.
