Bassoon Teacher (Historical Performance)

The Historical Performance (HP) department at the Royal Academy of Music seeks to appoint a part-time Historical Bassoon teacher to give one-to-one bassoon tuition to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The role usually consists of second study one-to-one teaching in the HP department (first study applications also welcome) and preparing students for Academy projects (such as the Bach series) with possible opportunities to take classes, coach chamber music and to develop other HP activities within the Academy.

You will have a recognised profile as an international performer with a thorough knowledge of a wide-range of repertoire and historical performing traditions. You will be able to advise, mentor and support students in managing their career aspirations and developing their professionalism, along with previous experience of teaching in a conservatoire environment. You will possess technical expertise and excellent communication skills. You will also need to be flexible, practical, collaborative and well organised
