Individually recognised as figureheads of the tradition, Mairtin O’Connor, Cathal Hayden & Seamie O’Dowd have built solid reputations as masters with astounding skill, diversity and virtuosity. Together they produce a vibrant and musically charged experience that redefines one’s concept of brilliance, verging on perfection. The three musicians have built a formidable musical relationship over the last few years gigging together frequently as well as collaborating in the studio. The catalyst for this was Máirtín when he invited the others to play on his ground-breaking ‘Road West’ album and again later on the ‘Rain of Light’ recording, much of which went down live such was the musical and personal rapport that had developed between them. If this musical powerhouse does not get you to your feet, nothing will.

Maeve O’Donnell, Ciara Maguire & Catríona Ní Ghribín are the current recipients of the TG4 Belfast City Council Bursary Award. To recognise five successful years of Belfast hosting TG4’s prestigious Gradam Ceoil awards, Belfast City Council along with TG4 have created a bursary scheme (2022 -2027) for young emerging traditional musicians in the city. Each year, three new recipients will receive support from the scheme. The objectives of the scheme are to enhance traditional music in Belfast, support creativity and cultural expression, professional development and to help promote Belfast as a UNESCO city of music. In partnership with Red Shoe Media, The Duncairn Arts Centre provides support, media training and mentorship as well as producing a broadcast-quality music video for each recipient.
