Poetry Ireland, with support from the Arts Council and Arts Council Northern Ireland, invites individual writers and storytellers to apply to the Writers in Schools Scheme. The programme part-funds two-hour visits to primary and post-primary schools in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, featuring poets, novelists, children’s writers, screenwriters and more. Schools pay €100/£85 per visit; the scheme covers the remaining fee and travel. Four-hour visits (€200/£170) may be approved for special projects. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from 1 January to 31 December 2025 via the Poetry Ireland website. Guidance, brochure and writer directory are available online. Enquiries: [email protected] or +353 1 678 9022.
