Citizens of Everywhere with Siobhán Doyle and Alexei Grynyuk

Sunday, 25 July 2021, 8.00pm

This is the final concert in our Festival series. The 31 concerts have involved almost all of the 61 musicians booked for the original live Festival. We have visited seventeen venues and worked with fifteen production crews. The musicians have all been amazing, some of the pianists have been involved in multiple concerts, like Alexei Grynyuk stepping in for the injured Sean Morgan-Rooney to help out Siobhán Doyle in this final performance. The original live Festival programme included all three Schumann Violin Sonatas from Nurit Stark. She chose different repertoire for her Berlin concert. Then Alina Ibragimova was to play all three in her London recording with Cédric Tiberghien, but at the last minute he was unable to travel. So we are delighted that Siobhán and Alexei have offered to bring us Schumann’s turbulent A minor Sonata, two miniatures by Lili Boulanger, Britten’s lively, youthful 5 movement Suite and, to finish, Brahms evergreen G major Sonata.
