Faith and Branko

Faith and Branko

Wednesday, 21 July 2021, 4.00pm

This intimate documentary follows the cross-cultural relationship between musicians Faith and Branko over seven years. In 2011, Faith travels from England to Serbia to learn gypsy accordion. She meets Roma violinist Branko and despite language barriers, they fall in love through music and spontaneously decide to marry.

Faith adapts to life in Serbia, learning the language and housewife skills. After a while the couple decide move to the UK for better opportunities. As time goes by, problems emerge in the everyday functioning of their relationship and they each miss aspects of their culture. Is love and an artistic connection enough to keep them together? Faith and Branko is an intimate and tender look at two artists in love.

Includes Q+A with director Catherine Harte and filmmaker Alice McDowell.

Available online from 21 July @ 4:00 PM - July 25 @ 10:45 PM.
