The charismatic Italian pianist Federico Colli leapt to worldwide attention as the winner of the 2012 Leeds International Piano Competition firmly establishing himself as a major musical presence on the international stage. He is a favourite pianist among British music lovers and was a 2018 recipient of the UK Critics’ Circle Music Awards.

For this Kings Place debut recital, Federico Colli has chosen two of the most iconic and original keyboard works ever composed – Beethoven’s compelling Moonlight Sonata and Mussorgsky’s towering depiction of visual art Pictures from an Exhibition. This masterly evocation of paintings perceived through music vividly captures the very essence of late 19th Century Russia. The concert will also include music by two of Federico Colli’s signature composers – Scarlatti & JS Bach as reimagined by the great Italian musician Ferrucio Busoni.

This concert is part of the London Piano Festival which runs from 2 - 6 October 2019.
