Technical Co-Ordinator (Music)
Queens University Belfast is seeking a Technical Co-Ordinator (Music).
The successful candidate will provide technical support for the Music programmes at the School. They will be based at the Sonic Arts Research Centre, a dynamic cross-disciplinary hub where practice and research in music, sound design, audio production, performance, audio engineering and broadcast production meet and intersect. The candidate will manage cutting-edge facilities and equipment across multi-site locations and also help support the thriving public events at the School. They will work in a creative and innovative environment and with a team of technical specialists in other areas including broadcast, film and drama.
The successful candidate must have:
Education to at least HND level, and/or professional equivalent in audio postproduction, or a related field
A minimum of four years’ experience in providing technical or instructional support within an educational, arts or commercial audio setting
Experience in setting up and maintaining a range of audio, film/video and computer resources
Demonstrable familiarity with audio editing software such as Pro Tools
Expertise in using current professional quality audio recording and mixing facilities
Experience of fault finding and testing audio and computer equipment
Ability to plan and allocate work and responsibilities using discretion to determine priorities and resolve conflicts to meet targets and deadlines
Good supervisory skills
