Press Manager (Music)
Southbank Centre in London is hiring a Press Manager to deliver media coverage for the Centre’s music events, specifically the Classical Music Programme.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a busy Press Team and will have significant experience of devising and implementing strategic media campaigns, including social media, developing a ‘digital first’ approach to all communications planning. You will have a proven track record in pro-actively pitching stories, drafting compelling media and PR materials including press releases, statements and briefing documents, and providing advice on press strategy at a senior level.
Working flexibly as part of the Marketing and Communications team, you will be responsible for collaborating with the orchestras and artists’ publicists ensuring that the classical and contemporary music events receive the maximum amount of publicity and profile with the aim of positively communicating the Southbank Centre’s corporate and artistic vision.
With exceptional organisational skills, you will successfully run media and PR events and activities including press interviews and photo-calls. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential, as is being a strong collaborative team player. Experience of promoting classical and contemporary music is essential.
