Twisted Tales

Opera Workshop presents a series of short, contemporary operas for the Halloween weekend.

A little odd, a little weird, a little edgy. A little of what you fancy, may do more harm than
good in the latest production from Limerick company, Opera Workshop.

Twisted Tales comprises a number of short, sharp, eerie tales performed in the shadowy
environs of the Coach House, No 2 Pery Square, Limerick over the Halloween weekend.
The shows run from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th October.

Tales of portentous witches, contentious wills and ships lost at sea are brought to you by an
ensemble of ten singers and two pianists. The programme of four short operas, songs and
scenes runs for about 80 minutes and includes, ‘Off Tuskar’ and ‘The Hag of Loughrask’ by
Fiona Linanne and ‘Ashes’ and ‘Bloody Murder’ by Luke Byrne.

Produced and directed by Opera Workshop’s Artistic Director, Shirley Keane, with music
direction by Eoin Scanlon. Opera Workshop join forces with their longtime production
partners Honest Arts to bring you the perfect creepy, musical feast for the October bank
holiday weekend.

We advise patrons to dress as if for an outdoor event. The coach house is an old and chilly
building… at least, we presume the chill is weather related…

The production is funded by The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltach, Sport and Media
through the Local, Live Performance Scheme and Limerick City & County Council Arts Office. The
work is generously supported by Limerick Civic Trust, The People’s Museum of Limerick and The
Lime Tree | Belltable Theatre.
