The Audience Experience & Operations Department areas of operation include Venues, Front of House and Foyers Experience Management, Facilities, Soft Service Contract Management, Security, Box Office, Access, Licensing, Health & Safety and Fire Safety Management. Audience Experience & Operations Department is one of the two departmental teams in the Buildings & Operations Division that covers both Barbican and Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

The department exists to provide the highest standards of customer experience, manage the Barbican, School and its activities, maximise revenue generation and ensure a welcoming, friendly and safe environment is provided to all whilst maintaining observance of relevant statutory regulations.

As part of the Audience Experience Management team, the Venue Manager is responsible for the smooth running of performances and events across all Venues, Foyer Spaces and beyond the Barbican and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. A key team player, the post-holder must be an exemplary role model to all staff, and coach and guide the team to provide a friendly, efficient and knowledgeable service to all our customers.

The successful candidate will be committed to providing the highest level of customer service, internally and externally. They will actively seek to promote equal opportunities in relation to the duties of the. Following a successful induction, they will perform the role in alignment with the vision and values of the Barbican and Guildhall School.

Working with the Venue Management Team on a rota basis, the post-holder will provide management cover primarily to the Guildhall School with additional Barbican performance venues during the opening hours of the organisations buildings.
