Departmental Lecturer in Music

The Faculty of Music at the University of Oxford proposes to appoint a fixed-term Departmental Lecturer in Music in association with Lady Margaret Hall. This is for a fixed term of 5 years with effect from 1 September 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.

For the Faculty, the appointee will give 36 hours of lectures/seminars per year and will undertake examining and graduate supervision. For Lady Margaret Hall, the appointee will take responsibility for the organisation, supervision and teaching of music at the College.

Applications are welcome from candidates with expertise in music since 1930, and who have teaching expertise and experience – at undergraduate and graduate level – in music.

Candidates must hold a doctorate in music or a closely related discipline, already awarded at the time of application.
