Freelance musicians wanted (Birmingham, Hastings, London & Portsmouth) to work with Ark Music!

Ark is a charity whose mission is to transform children’s lives through education. The Ark Music programme supports music-making across Ark schools, to make sure that every child has access to high quality music education, regardless of their background.

What current opportunities are there?

We have a range of opportunities, including working ad-hoc on our varied programme of student events, to weekly teaching in our school classrooms. If you believe you’ve got skills to pass on to our students – we want to hear from you!

This includes:
• Primary music specialists to coach our primary teachers on delivering a song-based music curriculum (Birmingham, Hastings, London & Portsmouth)
• Vocal leaders to work with choirs/singing groups (Birmingham, Hastings, London & Portsmouth)
• Whole-class djembe, samba and/or ukulele teachers (West London and Portsmouth)
• Mixed-ability instrumental ensemble leaders (London)
The ideal candidate will:
• Have a genuine passion for and belief in the potential of every young person
• Be an excellent teacher and music educator
• Be an active musician

We welcome applications all year round and will be doing our next recruitment round in January 2023.

We will conduct telephone interviews during week commencing 9th January, and an in-person assessment day will take during the week commencing 16th January 2023.
