Led by trumpet player and composer Laura Jurd, Dinosaur is one of the most captivating and inventive bands working today. Laura’s distinctive approach to improvisation is often simple yet always colourful, resulting in a sound that is instantly inviting and recognisable. Alongside Laura is Elliot Galvin on keys, Conor Chaplin on bass and Corrie Dick on drums.

Receiving a 5* review in the Guardian and a Mercury prize nomination for their 2016 debut album, Together, As One, the band have since toured extensively throughout Europe and beyond, playing at some of the world’s most prestigious festivals including North Sea Jazz, Montreal Jazz Festival and Molde International Jazz Festival.

Wonder Trail, released in May 2018, sees Laura merge her meticulously composed jazz rock grooves and electronic minimalism with Elliot’s synthpop inspiration carved from the 1980s.

We have been eager to invite Dinosaur back to Belfast ever since their unbelievable set four years ago, so we are delighted it’s finally happened! Do not miss!

” … beautifully played and effortlessly confident collage of contemporary styles.” – The Guardian

“Leader/composer Jurd with her band of co-virtuosos have now pulled-off what might be considered a masterpiece.” – All About Jazz
