Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra Online Course

Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra Online Course

Friday, 26 February 2021, 5.00pm

From 6 – 8 April 2021, the Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra will host an online course for musicians aged 18 – 24 with an interest in historically informed performance practice. Places are available to musicians of any instrument who have an interest. (Exceptional players outside of the age range will be considered.)

The course will cover a variety of aspects of Baroque music and dance.

There will be sectionals / masterclasses on selected instruments: violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe and harpsichord. Musicians may take part in the sectionals on modern instruments.

There will be a participation fee of €100. However:
– if a person is interested in Baroque music but their instrument is not catered for in sectionals, the participation fee will be €75 and they are welcome to observe sectionals of other instruments.
– Depending on application numbers for the course, we may not offer participation in the sectionals to everyone even if their instrument is catered for. If you do not get a sectional place, the fee will be €75.

Closing date for applications is Friday, 26 February.
