Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra Summer Course
From 19–24 July 2021, the Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra will host its Summer School.
Due to potential restrictions around COVID-19, places will be strictly limited for the summer course.
The orchestra will consist of 15 players, including Artistic Director Claire Duff (Leader of the Irish Baroque Orchestra).
The orchestra will comprise 4 first violins, 3 second violins, 2 violas, 2 cellos, 1 double bass, 2 oboes, and harpsichord / continuo. Unfortunately, there will be no flutes or recorders this year due to potential COVID-19 restrictions.
Note: Due to a previous IYBO initiative, the two places for oboists have been filled for the 2021 IYBO Summer Course. However, if you are interested in baroque oboe, we would love to hear from you for future projects so please sign up to the IYBO Online Course in April 2021.
It is hoped for all participants to perform on period instruments provided by the IBO, IAYO and other partners if possible. Please see the sample timetable for the course below.
There will be a fee of €200 for participating in the course.
Closing date for applications is Friday, 26 February.
