Matthew & Naomi Berrill Quartet

Multi-instrumentalist Matthew Berrill is a freelance musician, educator, composer, arranger and curator. He grew up surrounded by music, playing alongside his siblings and parents. He has a keen interest in many genres of music including jazz, traditional and classical music. Matthew studied clarinet and saxophone at the Royal Conservatoire, Den Haag, The Netherlands, graduating with a BMus. (Hons.) Degree in Jazz Performance in 2008, and a Master’s Degree in 2010, with a focus on jazz composition. He curates a multi-genre series for The Galway Music Residency, was the Artistic Director of the Galway Jazz Festival, conducted the NUIG orchestra, is MD of ‘Headford Music Works’ Youth Jazz Ensemble and is a member of many groups including the award winning Ensemble Ériu. In 2019, he worked with numerous acclaimed Irish artists including Mick Flannery, John Blek, Pauline Scanlon, Anna Mullarkey and The Whileaways.
